Gather your ingredients. Probably the simplest recipe ever!
Grate your cheese. My partner grated the whole block lol. Using a cup measure out 1 cup of flour.
Add the flour to the bowl. Using the same cup measure out just less than 1 cup of butter.
Add butter to the bowl.
Knead together until combined.
Measure out just less than 1 cup of cheese. I do this because cheese has its own oils and releases them when heated, we don't want oily snaps!
Add to the dough.
Knead until combined.
I prefer to make my snaps small, bite sized things. This is roughly the amount I use per snap.
Appease any animals that happen by!
Flatten your dough in the palm of your hand or use a rolling pin & use a cookie cutter/ egg cup. Set out your snaps on to your baking tray then put them in to the middle shelf of your preheated oven.
Check on them after about 10 minutes of cooking, when sufficiently browned remove from oven and let them cool down.
Add flavoured toppings to change them up. These are garlic and chilli. Enjoy!
